INDEMNITY INSURANCE:-
Many
clients and builders feel reassured that their designer carries Professional
Indemnity insurance.
Our insurance limit is £500,000 and to date has never been needed.
Amazingly, many designers carry no insurance whatsoever.
2.
AGENCY SERVICE:-
An
integral part of our service includes full agency during the design
stage. This means that we fill out the forms, provide the necessary
number of copies of all drawings and documents, and submit the application/s,
with a design justification statement. As agent, the council will
contact us with any queries. We check on the progress of the application,
and keep you updated.

INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE:-
K.W.
Dorrington is a full time husband and wife team. Kevin Dorrington
has 24 years experience and comes from a family involved in the building
industry. Over this time a vast level of knowledge has been accumulated.
This knowledge comes to the fore during the initial, informal meeting.
This initial meeting is free of charge, up to around 40 miles travel.

PLANNING KNOWLEDGE:-
Possessing
planning knowledge is essential. Not only to communicate to clients
- what is and what is not likely to get approved; but to advise what
is best - practically and aesthetically. It may be that the client
had not considered a certain design, which caters for their needs.
It is pointless having designs submitted that have no chance of being
approved, or in some ways worse - that cannot be built.
5.
CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY:-
The
deep understanding of building technology is paramount. Some inexperienced
designers will actually get planning approved, but then leave you
and your builder with an unworkable scheme. The actual construction
design must be carried out to give the client a building that fits
with their requirements - financially and practically. Whilst designing
your scheme for planning, we are aware that WE have to get
the scheme through Building Control, and are therefore planning ahead.
We also manage our own building works so have practical experience
of how things are put together and what problems may crop up.
